I felt like these 4 went a little better and are a lot neater. I still haven’t attempted highlighting yet but one step at a time.

I am going to try chain mail next!

you say you’ve not highlighted them, I wouldn’t be too concerned, if that’s how they look post shading I would say there is enough on there for the time being.
Basing wise I would suggest adding a stone here or there or a tuft of grass or flowers to break them up slightly, not on everyone, but even on two or three of them.
Nevertheless great work keep cracking on with them.

Thanks. I did think about tufts of grass but I wasn’t too sure on the order they go on! I will have a rummage along the road to try and find some stones! Thanks for the suggestion.

These look great now they just need to collect some enemy skulls to drink from and they’ll be proper Vikings!!!

A cheap trick for flowers is to tear up extremely small pieces of foam, like the ones that come in blisters, and soak them in paint overnight. Instant flowers.
