If you're looking for a fun looking board game about dungeon delving, but with a twist, then see what you think of Trove: The Crystal Caverns from Leder Games. This asymmetrical game sees you playing as the hero and the denizens of the cavern each in a race for victory...

TROVE

The Characters

In this game you take on the rolls of four very different personae. One of you will be the brave Knight (a Female Knight I should add!), one a big dangerous Dragon and the others a Goblin Horde and the Cave itself. All of them have different ways of playing the game with their own unique mechanics and end goal.

The Knight

The Knight is seeking to slay the dragon as well as fulfilling all sorts of quests below the surface. I think it's great that we've got this 'Tomb Raider' style heroine to play as in the game and the artwork is fantastic.

The Dragon

The Dragon knows that the Knight is closing in to slay it and so is seeking to strike at its foes and escape the cavern before it is too late.

The Goblin

The Goblins are actually made up of three different tribes each vying for control of the tunnels within the cave and you'll have to manage each of these in order to achieve victory.

The Cave

Last but not least is the Cave itself. The cave is out to get all of the interlopers to its dank domain so you will be looking to trap the Knight, contain the Goblins and make sure all have a generally bad time of it.

Grab A Print & Play Copy

I think this is a wonderful idea for a game and the artwork is superb. The initial pledge to get a hold of the game is low too which is great.

If you'd like to pick up a Print & Play version of the game then you can grab it over on the Kickstarter page.

What do you think?
