The Mercenaries Heavy Warjack kit makes three different builds of Warjack… but which one makes the grade for your Warmachine force?
Cool And as a new player to WarmaHordes, I’ve opted for McBain as my first warcaster (mainly ‘cos he looks awesome, and I can trot out my terrible Arnie impression when I say his name, ala the Simpsons…) with a plastic nomad as my first Warjack. I’ve added in some Steelhead Rifles, and a few Solos, with an idea of where I want to take things, but for the time being I’m liking what I’m seeing….
From looking at this it seems that it has to be the mule. Nothing like hopeing for a critical hit to be roled.
I’m of two minds weather to put Shea to one side to grab Magnus with a few of this kit magneted out the wazoo as the backbone of a merc list(not least cos Shea only works for himself, I don’t think he’s very good at the “mercenary” part…), or wait until they do a plastic pirate jack kit and keep on the talion charter path. Even though I know other casters are better I just like the pirate stuff.
The thing I really like about this kit though, is that you can see how some of the parts look a lot like parts on cygnar jacks- the collar around the head, the ‘colar bone’ pistons and the inner details of arms-which makes total sense, since they’re supposed to be old cygnar models sold off cheap when newer stuff came around(eg the nomad was replaced by the iron clad) as often as they’re made from farming/dock loading jacks.
See, I quite like the idea Epic Magnus’s “Bad Seeds” list from No Quarter, and would give me an excuse to stealthily start a Cygnar force at some point………
To me Mercenary jacks have they own appeal and these are very good looking kits that carry that style.
I picked up the Mercs after a nice run with first Cygnar and then Legion of Everblight. Much of the Mercenary line is average or even under-powered compared to many of the factions. That said, they do have some tricky synergy hidden for those who take the time to find it. In regards to the heavy jacks I did not even bother magnetizing mine, Mule is it. Hands down the best of the three and works well with Ashlynn (a favorite of mine). Nice job Beast of War gents!
