Footsore Start Work On Their Norman Bowmen For 2018

Footsore Miniatures have been working away on some more Normans for 2018. Here we have some of the WiP models for their Norman Bowmen...
These bowmen aren't armed with the crossbows that you might have assumed they'd be carrying and instead they have their regular bows which were quicker to fire as they scout around the battlefield.
I really like their lighter and looser clothing choices here as it makes sense for these hunters and skirmishers in the battle. I like that many of them also have arrows attached as well so it doesn't just look like they've all fired their weapons giving them a sense of being in the moment.
Will you be picking up some Normans in 2018?

These look nicer than my Conquest plastic Norman archers. For SAGA they’d be Levy archers so you’d need them in batches of 12. I got to play a game at GenCon using Normans and the archers were devastating. Lots of battleboard shenanigans for them to use (most of which only worked for the bow armed levy, not the crossbow armed warriors). I think you’d want at least 1 unit of these in a 4 point game and at least 2 units in a 6 point game.
already standing by to order these once Paul finishes them, but first things first, Bill’s Vikings go up on the site between the 25th and 31st. So if anyone is wondering what to do with any cash stuffed cards, there’s a good place to start looking. 🙂
