Welcome to another awesome Mennes' Mini-Mashup tutorial where now Tomas is breaking down the Prime Axiom from the Convergence Of Cyriss and is rebuilding it into one of his monstrous creations.

Why not? Just try it. It all starts with not being afraid to ruin a very expensive kit 🙂 And in the end, it usually turns out right.
Trust me, you have no idea how anxious I was the frist time I cut up a kit.

It’s about confidence in your skills and familiarity with the kit. When I’m working with a kit for the very first time I take a lot of time dry fitting the pieces, observing the lines and shapes and scrutinizing the pictures on the box. Then if I have need of a second one, I’m confident enough to start hacking and chopping and moving things around. It’s just about practice and confidence. Oh, but it is exactly the same with me. Lance has been so kind to always cut out the bits where I slice my thumb 5 minutes into the video. If you look close enough, you can still see my damaged fingers and a bit of blood dried up on them.
These days, I hardly notice anymore.

What hobby knife are you using? need something solid my handles are too flimsy
It’s an exacto blade I found in my local hobby shop. No idea what make it is. I like exacto knifes because they are more sturdy and finer. I always make sure I get one with a thick handle, with a rubber grip. It makes a lot of difference if you want to put force on the knife.

I gasp at every slice, for fear of his fingers and for fear of expensive plastic! Even though I know he will out put something incredible, i still gasp haha!
kit bashing is great the main problem is to get the parts in a rough plan in your head before you cut anything to prevent/minimise problems.
I like what Menne has done so far, and can`t wait to see where he goes in part two. I for one would never of thought of doing what he`s done, but now seeing Menne bin the plan`s and get stuck in has me wanting to do the same. Just have to work out which mini i`d like to have a go at, and what i would like it to look like. I have done conversion`s over the year`s, and if i can find the pic`s i`ll post them.
