PlayFusion, the minds behind the awesome Lightseekers, has partnered with Games Workshop to bring you Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Champions, a new card game which will develop both in the physical and digital realm.

Warhammer Age Of Sigmar Champions - PlayFusion

Set to release in July 2018 they released more information in a statement this week...

"The physical trading card game will feature hundreds of collectable cards that players can use to build their own decks to fit their strategy and tactics. The physical cards will also come to life when viewed through PlayFusion's Enhanced Reality Engine™, allowing fans to unlock various enhanced gameplay options while also giving them an exciting new way to explore the Warhammer Age of Sigmar world.

PlayFusion will continue to partner with Games Workshop for many years to come to offer new game expansions and additional card reveals."

So, much like with Lightseekers the game will benefit from a physical game as well as a digital component available on both iOS and Android. It will also build upon that augmented reality side of things which is fascinating to see develop within the tabletop world.

Thankfully, it sounds like the experience with Lightseekers is continuing to show and you will be able to import your physical cards into the digital realm for you to use online, making sure that you don't have to keep control of two different collections!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing what they do with this game going forward. As you'll no doubt know by now, we're big fans of Lightseekers and it gets routinely played in the office. So, bring on Champions I say!

Will you be keeping an eye out for this?
