Italian Modeller Makes R2-D2 Into A Death Dealing Machine!

It's always fun to see what modellers can come up with when they let their imagination run wild. One such Italian modeller named Lemcat recently let his loose in the Star Wars universe and came up with a version of R2 unlike any that has gone before.
Named Hi2-D2 - Enhanced Astromech Droid, this new version of the classic Star Wars droid looks like it could probably take on the whole Empire by itself.
This model is a custom build of a Gundam kit, and comes complete with all of the little astromech's useful gizmos and gadgets.
The end result is a pretty awesome new take on a classic character, who is no longer content to play the role of the group's white mage.

Hah! Let’s see C3P0 slag him off now! He’ll need a month with a panel beater to hammer out the dents afterwards. Though I can’t help feeling that its a bit sacrilegious to do this to R2. What next? Chewbacca with an all over body shave? Sormtroopers in thigh-high, high heel boots? Some things might be best left alone!
What about the Princess Leia cinnamon roll hair braids? Or her slave girl outfit?

That gundam kit is really nice I got a couple to use as giant size mechanicus robots.
This was a concept idea when Arnold Schwarzenegger was on the books as playing R2 D2 😛
