Dark Sword Miniatures do some awesome 28mm Fantasy miniatures for you to use in your wargames and roleplaying games and this month is no different! Whilst there are some fun standard additions to their range for October, there is also an amazing range of Goblins by Gene Vanhorne.

Chonky Goblin With Mace & Shield // Dark Sword Miniatures

These Goblins by Gene Vanhorne might be familiar to those who have watched the adventures of a certain diminutive gentleman who headed off to a mountain to deal with a dragon! There is a clear inspiration here throughout the range and it's awesome to see something I remember seeing in my childhood brought to life in miniature form like this.

Chonky Goblin With Two-Handed Axe // Dark Sword Miniatures

There is a good mix of different Goblins covering the slightly chonkier options as well as more standard-sized Goblins and some lesser folks too. That way you can clearly make a little warband with different levels of Goblin covering the elite characters and the rank and file.

Goblin With Axe & Shield // Dark Sword Miniatures

All of the miniatures are single-piece pewter and would be brilliant for those looking to build a small warband (as mentioned above) or in your roleplaying games. If you were planning to play something like the classic Middle-earth Roleplaying Game or The One Ring with miniatures, maybe these would be a good addition to your collection, especially if you want to give a nudge and a wink to the classic cartoon. These would also work great as alternate Goblins for whatever game you might be indulging in.

Mary Profitt has done a great job of painting the miniatures that you see here, giving you an idea of the quirky ways that you could take your own Goblins when you get them to the tabletop. Lesser Goblin With Sword // Dark Sword Miniatures

A brilliant selection of miniatures. I feel this needs to be expanded with perhaps a big character that could lord over Goblin Town. I would love to see Gene Vanhorne do some work on some Dwarves and a Halfling that could be matched up to these miniatures.
