Building on the news from yesterday of a fun new roleplaying game for Avatar: The Last Airbender, we also got the news that there is a book coming for The Dragon Prince! Tales of Xadia: The Dragon Prince Roleplaying Game is now available to playtest!

Tales Of Xadia: The Dragon Prince Roleplaying Game

Tales Of Xadia takes place in the cartoon world of The Dragon Prince. For those of you who don't know, The Dragon Prince is a cartoon show which has been running for three seasons on Netflix and is pretty darn awesome (in my opinion anyway!).

The central storyline revolves around the bad blood between Humans and Elves within this Fantasy world, ancient powerful Dragons which hold the key to the future of both sides and evil villains who plot and scheme in the background. You can check out the trailer for it below...

The roleplaying game then puts you in the boots of characters from that world at the crux of season three as it moves into season four. Not to spoil anything, but it means that you'll be able to play as both Humans and Elves (who are tied to various elemental forces) as they strike an uneasy alliance for common goals.

It might seem like another "kiddy" roleplaying game but I think you could have a lot of fun in this universe. There are some epic characters in the story of The Dragon Prince and that could translate to equally epic player characters for your group. Twinning that with plenty of steps in the right direction for diversity and inclusion, this could be a world which is a good fit for all.

If you're interested in giving this game system and world a go then you can sign up to a mailing list which will grant you access to a Playtest Kit & Adventure. Tales Of Xadia uses the Cortex RPG mechanics as its base and it seems quick and easy to dive into. I'm certainly going to be reading up about this over the next few days.

Have you watched The Dragon Prince? Are you tempted to give this a go?
