Kingdom Death Show Off A Phenomenal Miniatures Sprue!

Kingdom Death is a little behind on their update at the moment but in recompense they showed off the amazing plastic sprue for their Unarmoured Survivor. There is a lot on here to customise your poor unfortunate hero or heroine and if you could find out a way of magnetising enough of the components maybe you could switch them out on the fly!
First up here are said Survivors clinging to their lanterns and hoping that the light lasts long enough down in the darkness! But of course there is much more where that came from once you start looking at the sprues themselves...
There are lots of delicate parts and it might end up being quite the Malifaux-esque task to put these together without gluing your own fingers together and the model itself! Still it all looks very well realised and with plenty of detail.
Here is a more coherant breakdown of exactly what's on the sprues and maybe you'll be able to start planning out exactly where you want to take your own Survivor. What creation do you think you'll be making?

Well there surely are some nice options with those kits. Those could be worth getting.

If you open the image of the sprue in it’s own window and blow it up to full size, you can see that the eyes are definitely sculpted on.
Images this small are clearly inadequate for the detail on these minis.
The only thing I have an issue with… The 2 poses for the men and women are just mirror imaged and/or have a bit of jewelry on them. I just thought they would have been more individual given the amount of customisation allowed.
When I saw “Kingdom Death” in the Breaking News sidebar, I actually groaned to myself “oh no . . .” but then immediately clicked on it! 😀 Surprisingly normal, but still fantastic looking sculpts. KD maintains its standard even when not making horrific sculpts, sensual sculpts, or worst of all, some hideous blend of the two. >:D

… sometimes I will see minis like the Flower Knight and Smoke Knight,
and just think they are some of the most stunningly beautiful sculpts out there 🙂

Why? Because it is boutique horror. If it didn’t disturb you it wouldn’t fit this particular “horror” genre. 😛 Interesting we watch people get chain sawed in half and have their skins worn as a cloak but have a lion with a penis for a head and it disturbs us more… But yes, it is a little much for most of us, and we all have our boundaries. I was part of the KD:M kickstarter but selectfully elected not to get some of the more unusual sculpts because some people I know wouldn’t let me put them on their table.… Read more »

I love all the KD minis precisely because are different. And the craftsmanship in all of them is quite superb.

I’m pretty sure that the idea is for us to use some of these bits in conjunction with the armored survivor kits (ie- if we don’t want everyone to always be without their helmets).

Pretty generic and boring. Love KD stuff but thats not exiting at all. I want a sprue with cocks, my orks are in need for looted armor.

It seems that the torso are very ‘rigid’. no rotation, just a straight torso. I hope the other minis wil be more dynamic.
Don’t forget that these are designed as part of a figure construction kit. There has to be some compromise in order to get all of the parts from all of the different armour kits to be compatible with each other.
I think once we see the other armour kits, things will start to look a lot better.
With the new update things look a little better but I must now concur – The survivors do look a little static. Even I can understand the reason for it.
Each day and update that goes by seems to show these mini’s will not be worth the wait. It is a board game and the game got trashed with-in months of the end of the kickstarter. I am bias though, I have am a backer for quite a bit of money and I have lost all faith in Adam Poots.
By the time I get the game I don’t think I will care, after all he doesn’t even show complete dedication to his very successful kickstarter, he does a lot of side projects while we all wait.
I don’t get the people moaning about him doing other things while working on KD:M. The resin stuff for his shop has feck all to do with the game and has no impact on it. The sculptors are idle as the sculpts for the game were done a long time ago. So there’s no conflict there. The sprue production is in the hands of the plastic manufacturer. A manufacturer that is nothing to do with the resin. So no conflict there either. The only conflict is Adam putting in extra hours each day to get both things done. Seriously. Moaning… Read more »
Ok tasker, here is what Poots could be doing with the extra time that he is using to sell his resin: 1. More communication with backers. 2. Making sure the game is play tested, edited, and releasing pieces in advance to backers. (Remember he already did a reboot on game rules at least once.) 3. Beta testing to backers. 4. Shipping in waves to allow for people to start playing. 5. Videos of game play and behind the scenes of miniature production. 6. Release something to backers to put in their hands. This is a great parts set for conversion work.
The hands alone might make it worth it for me.
