Mithril Miniatures Keeps Lord of the Rings Alive With New Release

Mithril Miniatures has dedicated themselves to faithfully keeping J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth alive and well for miniature collectors and gamers.

This past weekend (September 18, 2015) they released a beautiful 32mm set depicting Eldacar defeating Castamir after returning to retake his throne in the Kingdom of Gondor. This scene is very cinematic and does tug at the heart strings and gets the adrenaline running through the veins. The scene is described:

King Eldacar was a good king (21st King of Gondor) but was forced to flee when the rebel armies attacked during the Kin Strife Rebellion because the royal family felt he was less than a true Dúnadan of Gondor. Castamir was the most popular rebel and became the 22nd King of Gondor, but proved to be a cruel and arrogant ruler. Castamir had executed Eldacar's son Ornendil.

Eldacar returned after a decade with an army and gained popular support from the Gondorian people and defeated the rebels and killed Castamir.

While this may not be a game piece per se, it is a wonderful collector's piece and would be perfect for any Middle Earth fan. I know it would have a place of honour on my bookcase next to my Lord of the Rings books.

I always had a soft spot for this range although they are pricey and a little old fashioned sculpting wise. I guess it’s called nostalgia.

they look good but will sell more if they were 28 mm to go with existing army collection’s I think?

They scale pretty well with other modern 28mm ranges.

Mithril have been sculpting these for decades and back in the day these were large when compared to traditional 25mm fantasy; however scale creep over the years has meant that these now are comparable to modern 28mm figures.
