Finding a new variation of Catan is always exciting. It really does blow my mind that Catan is still going strong to this day, and we are all still awaiting new releases and additions to grow the established and strong ground-breaking board game.

Catan: Treasures, Dragons & Adventures // Catan Studio & KOSMOS

There is a new expansion making its way on to the tabletop in July 2021, promising to bring Dragons, Treasure and more adventures into the mix.

This expansion may not be a stranger to many. Originally released back in 2009 in an abundance of languages however the official English Language copy was never released. Now providing a new and improved release of Catan: Treasure, Dragons and Adventures.

Players will be taking exploration to the max, hunting down treasures for all to gasp over in glory. Across islands and digging through trenches and canals, players will be provided with new scenarios to not just bring home a hoard of shiny treasure but to take down the guardian dragon who sat upon it.

There are brand new components included in the new version too, along with terrain tiles containing different areas of forestry, fields, hills and mountainous land. And of course, who could forget the new gang of 19 dragons ready to change the game completely.

Catan: Treasures, Dragons and Adventures is ready to be released in August 2021, prepping for the summer of board games and expanding my ever loved game of Catan in to a whole realm of fantasy-dragon-goodness.
