"For The Greater Good". Hopefully, when it comes to you playing the new Osprey Games card game Village Green it won't quite end up being like the ending to Hot Fuzz. See what you make of this charming release coming in September 2020.

Village Green - Osprey Games

Village Green // Osprey Games

As the name and subtitle suggest, Village Green is a game where you take on the role of rival gardeners who are looking to make sure that your village green looks the best. You will be arranging flowers, planting trees, erecting statues and building beautiful ponds in the hopes of impressing the judges. However, everyone else is out to do the same so you'll have to make shrewd choices when it comes to choosing which awards you aim for.

Village Green Gameplay - Osprey Games

Village Green Cards // Osprey Games

The game was designed by Peer Sylvester with the hopes that his mother would enjoy it and that certainly seems like the right demographic for this game. I think this could be a charming game to throw into the mix with the family and with a range of players from one through to five, it might be a good puzzle to attempt by yourself too.

Whilst this might not be everyone's cup of tea, I am a big fan of gardening and wildlife and so this could well be a game which makes it into my collection. Another big draw for me is the absolutely wonderful artwork by Joanna Rosa which makes this quite the looker alongside the likes of Wingspan.
