We've got a load more awesome painting to check out today as we take a peek into the Hobby & Painting Forum and send out some Golden Buttons to some of you awesome hobbyists.

Let's delve in and see what has caught our eye this week.

Star Wars: Legion by hairybrains

The first thing we're going to get stuck into is some work by hairybrains. He has been a busy fellow indeed and painted up his entire  Star Wars: Legion set using the methods that John detailed in one of our VLOGS.

The scheme is nice and simple and works up from dark colours to provide you with nice spotlights to mark them out as different on the tabletop. Using some quick methods you can easily get past a lot of the hard work and instead focus on gaming.

I thought that in particular, his Imperial force was looking very swanky indeed. I liked the stark difference between the white of the Stormtroopers and their black guns, with a few additional bits of detail worked in for good measure.

This shows you how you can get a very good looking Star Wars: Legion force nice and quickly. If you're interested in hearing more about how he got everything painted so quickly you can jump onto the forum thread linked above and ask him some questions.

DreadBall Brokkr Team by herrigold

Since it has just been DreadBall week it makes sense for us to show off a team. Here we have the very vibrant and striking Brokkr Team from herrigold that was finished off this week just in time to get in some gaming goodness with the new edition.

The glowing orange look to their armour is what drew me to these models, especially when you look at the larger bot behind the players. I think it works very nicely as an all-encompassing theme that immediately makes them stand out on the tabletop. It is the kind of theme you would have thought that a DreadBall team would go for.

Some of the facial details on the players could use a little bit of extra work but the main thing is that the armour works very well and the beards are nicely detailed too! Can't have a Dwarf without a good beard!

Scenic Backdrop Box by dogma2097

Last but not least we have the work by dogma2097. You might have seen that he was working on this neat scenic backdrop to take pictures of miniatures. Well, now it's finished and looking splendid.

The backdrop and additional scenery pieces neatly pack up inside this well-finished box which has a lovely message adorned on the front. You could imagine it actually existing in some Fantasy universe like Discworld. Here's what it looks like when you crack it open.

The backdrop sits perfectly in the lid of the box and does not slide around. The smaller terrain elements can then just be propped up to add some extra depth if needed. The final quality of his photos is justice to the effect this gives as you'll see on the model below.

It makes me want to try and make something similar for taking pictures of my models! I always liked the idea of being able to take proper table shots around nice terrain and this would offer that up nicely, especially since I tend to almost exclusively pick up Fantasy or Historical miniatures.

A splendid bit of extra hobby to help enrich the process!
