FireForge have now added the resin Crusader Archers to their webstore for pre-order. You get six different figures, seven different heads, and quivers. Pick your targets from the walls of your castle and bring them down in Deus Vult...
I like the different looks for the archers although my favourite is the one with his hood up. I always think this is a great look for archers, probably a little inspired by all those stories of Robin Hood.
The motley assortment of outfits also fits with the idea that most of these bowmen would probably have been drafted in by Barons back in Europe and, with whatever they had to hand, been bought over on these long Crusade campaigns.
I do love me some archery!

They are ok at first glance. Good paintjobs too for this kind of mini release.
Yet I have to confess I find them a disappointing, I just hoped for better sculpts after seeing the artworks.
Those are actually rather nice.
Conquest Games have a plastic set of Archers covering the 10th to 12th century coming soon, so I’d hold off until I saw those. Crusader and Black Tree Designs have archers which look just as good or bad as these.
Not as thrilled with these as I have been with the rest of their line.
I think that Fireforge edges out Perry in cavalry, but Perry may have the advantage in infantry. Can anyone else verify whether this hasty generalization holds any weight though?
