Crocodile Games has released a new miniature for their game, WarGods Of Olympus. Here we have one of the sneaky Spartan Kryptes who is going to be stealing their way behind enemy lines to cut down guards and assassinate important figures in the opposing army.

The miniature for the Kryptes was sculpted by Todd Harris and painted here for display by Chris FitzPatrick. It shows off a cunning and deadly killer who, whilst they might have taken a few scrapes, is very much ready to plunge a dagger into the back of his intended target.

You can actually get a look at the rules for the Kryptes thanks to Crocodile Games here. This is also available as a free PDF you can download if you prefer! I was particularly drawn to the fluff, especially as it tends to fly in the face of what you'd assume about the Spartans as an army.

Whilst it is particularly brutal, I do like that the Spartans get these young warriors to test themselves in hunting and killing their foes under a veil of shadows. It would make for a very fun mini-game, perhaps setting up a band of the Kryptea who have to find targets and kill them before the sun rises?

It is a cunning general who is able to utilise an assassin in a mass battle game too. I would wager there are often more dead Kryptes than live ones during most engagements! As an alternative side to the Spartans, do you think you'll be adding one into your warband?

Let me know below!
