A New Stern Commander Previewed By Forge World!

Forge World have previewed another awesome looking character model that will no doubt be joining their range soon. See what you think of the close up snippet below...
I'm assuming that this chap is going to be a commanding model for the Solar Auxilia but if you have a clue as to what his name might be then let me know below! He is holding a sword in a dueling pose and a rather deadly looking pistol in the other hand.
Overall we have the trademark high detail that we've come to know and love from Forge World with some intricate work going into the cloak, armour and facial details.
Will you be picking this up?

FW is certainly moving the range away from Hanna Barbera-looking minis .. very nice
Yeah, but the sword would have to go, and of course he’ll be $70… if you’re lucky.
How much is the last character in $? the FW one? Can’t see him being more than that.
If there is a GW news topic with a new model being displayed in it, then you can be sure to find cpauls1 at the very least commenting on the price; bonus points if he says it looks like a toy and the only people that model would appeal to would be 12 year old children.
With regards to the price of this model, then it depends on what else he comes with; could come with a scenic base; could be part of a command squad; could be on his own; etc…

He would look awesome with a heavy stubber or a plasmagun 🙂 what GW need to do is make fws quality standard and then get off their high horse and lower prices .. just about everyone can top the standard, and often at just a fraction of the cost. GW think they are the big boys, in fact they lost that status to others ages ago. Hillarious how they expect premium price for something that would be considered regular quality in other circles.

Actual character will be $45 but they will add to it a scenic base which will raise the price by another $25… If you’re lucky.

Ah don’t worry @deaddave I’ve long since ceased to care about negative karma. BoW is, I think, the only forum I’ve actually been thumbed down for posting an actual fact. This place is hilarious sometimes.

Yes, pretty sweet. The solar Auxilla is shaping up nicely.
This guy is part of the Solar Auxilia command squad, first revealed at the Horus Heresy Weekender. You can see some other minis from the squad in the background. I don’t know that price, but so far Solar Auxilia infantry releases have been very similar prices to existing FW Imperial Guard (such as the Death Korps of Krieg).
Of course, I could just do a @cpauls1 and make up a ridiculous price to ‘prove’ how crap everything connected to GW is. I’m surprised he hasn’t claimed he can make a better one with toys from his local dollar store yet 🙂

I didn’t say it was a bad sculpt @erastus . I said I would get rid of the sword. 14p and a pot of jam sounds about right, though, now that you mention it.

@erastus seriously fella, don’t give in to the wind up merchants, they thrive on their negativity. This karma bollocks actually means something to them and they get a kick out of creating negativity. Faceless cowards, using anonymity to spread bull crap. You enjoy your hobby, and that’s all that matters. You’re right @deaddave . I keep getting suckered in, thinking it’s actually possible to have a discourse with these tools. One in particular is an especially vile individual, judging by comments he’s made over the years. Thanks for making me see sense 🙂
It’s a good sculpt, bell bottom/sword aesthetic aside. I would probably go as high as $40 for a quality man-sized single. I think the most I’ve dropped on one is $50, and that was actually for my missus’ mounted command group: the Brunhilde standard from Raging Heroes. I usually spend a bit more on her fantasy field army, and the figure itself was EXACTLY what I needed to fill out the storyline of the game. I can’t see being more than $20 ish. I just bought the Forge World event exclusive model for £16 sterling.
I’m gutted I’m not at any events to get the alpha legion event only mini 🙁
I ordered it direct from Forge World and they said I could pick it up at Salute. Worth a try to see if you can order direct.
