Unboxing: 4Ground’s Stoic Arms Tavern

We return to the town of Mordanburg to visit the Stoic Arms Tavern by 4Ground for a drink or two; maybe even three or four...
This kit is of the typical high quality you'd expect from 4Ground and when boxed up is of a hefty weight (heavy enough to knock the wind out of Justin anyway!).
You'll get plenty of hobby hours out of building this massive kit.

I’ve changed my mind so many times about what I want to spend my money on at the 4 ground stall at Salute. The Stoic arms has been on and off the list continually. I had kind of made my mind up to buy more smaller buildings instead of one big one.

Ahh you turned the music down on the advert, can now remove fingers from ears and unclench buttocks. Great vid and let’s hope GW create a fitting game for such fantastic terrain.

Really love the look of this kit, it seems to have everything you could ever wish for in abundance! (bar the furniture, perhaps!)
I’ve been stopped dead in my tracks by the price of the damn thing… maybe in 2016!
There are some great Salute offers from 4Ground. Their kits are great, and I doubt I would ever go back to bare MDF terrain…
I may need to be restrained at the 4Ground stall at Salute.
Very tempted by this- is the MDF a pain to cut out of the sprues and require loads of filing (like some terrain I could mention) or does it just fall out with nothing to file? It makes a big difference in construction time with something this big.
I’ve assembled two of the regular buildings and needed no filing, though did need to do a little trimming. It took a long time to assemble the buildings, but not because of the trimming. There’s just a lot of parts and you need to wait for some of them to glue together before continuing with it. It may be that with the inn, you can work on two (or more) stories at once, moving between them as you wait for glue to dry.
In the kits I’ve built the pieces are attached with tiny (less than 0.5mm wide) connections to the sprue. I file/cut
away the minute stub that is left but it is not always necessary, these kits are a joy to build.
i really like this building but need a reason to buy it besides like….urgh!
It is an impressive model when built. I think 4Grounds products are getting better and better with each range they release. You never know what might be coming next for this range……
@flaktower no mate the MDF pops out of the spure very easy, sometimes you may need a model knife to help but that is very rare. I have built many, many, many 4Ground kits and I’ve only had to use a knife a few times.
4ground do incredible stuff! My wife has a Dropzone Monorail station hidden away somewhere for my birthday – can hardly wait!
is that the bar that was in one of the XLBS Blogs? Lloyd should make a (ten tailed cat) sign for this one?
Not that i want to intrude on Justin’s leisure time, but might i suggest filming Justin’s Stoic build?
Having now built several 4ground buildings, I’m completely hooked. The kits come with full instructions and the MDF pieces are easy to remove from the sprues.
Not only are the buildings awesome but the 4ground team are great bunch who will help with any issues.
I have the Stoic Arms in pile of buildings to build( thanks to my hubby winning it on BOW). Can’t wait to build it and can’t wait for salute to pick up my next projects !!!
This kit makes me both happy and a bit sad. It looks great, but it becomes very hard to make something scratch-built that looks as awesome.
I hadn’t noticed the trapdoor to the beer cellar yet. Now I want to know what the beer cellar looks like … and the hidden passageway .. leading to the sewer maze! 🙂
Imagination can run wild with the detail in these kits.
