Gates Of Antares Starter Set Coming This October

Warlord Games have got something big coming to Beyond The Gates Of Antares in October this year. So far all of the range has been metal but a new Starter Set is on the way containing two plastic armies!
The new set looks like it contains the two fairly sizeable armies for the Concord and the Ghar along with all the tokens and templates you need AND a big rulebook. As I mentioned though all of the contents within it are going to be plastic!
This is a big step up from Warlord and could give people the avenue of entry they've been wanting into Beyond The Gates Of Antares. In the future maybe this mean we'll see plastic army sets for the other races too.
You can't see the models that closely but the one we do get a look at seems to be better sculpted and proportioned (and indeed seems to likely be the metal limited edition miniature).

Wonder what the price for this will be. Will be watching.
Heard that it is around the £70 mark, but for what you get it will be well worth it.
I believe the ltd ed model, the only one shown in CU, is metal not plastic.
Tempting, will have to see what the price is.
Will have to see if I can find a break down of the rules too.
If that is the case then the metal is a big step up from some of the older ones!

There’s a battle report in the latest issue of Tabletop Gaming magazine.
As long as it’s not ridiculously priced, I’ll probably grab it. I’ve liked the look of this since its failed KS – Sci-fi using modified Bolt Action rules is definitely worth looking at.
I am actually excited about this.
It only needs a playmat and it would be 100% complete, but if the price is right i might jump to it next year.
I have been waiting for this for well over a year. I’ll definitely be pickling one of these sets up.
So glad they’re moving into plastic sets with this.
I was hoping for Algoryn and Isorian plastics in the box but these will do. I’ll pick up 2 sets just for the minis and spare rulebook.
Now they have my attention. I have pulled in my hobby budget the last month so might set some aside for this. October is not far away.
Is the beta pdf still available? Looks like it’s been pulled from the Warlord Games site. Bit late to the party but would like to see the rules (not being familiar with Bolt Action)
Not my preferred factions but will definitely be picking this up. Plastic models and bolts action rules make this a real competitor to Infinity.
I think GoA is platoon scale rather than squad level. So, you’re moving around squads as units rather than individuals, as well as there being a greater level of abstraction.
At least that will be the case if it’s a similar system to Bolt Action.
I think the only race i like of the antares’ range are the algoryn
Hopefully this set will give the game the kick up the arse it needs.
I love the Bolt Action rules and some of the minis for this are really characterful. It seems a lot more ‘adult’ than games like 40k have become these days, so hopefully there is a room in the market for it.
I want to get into this, because I love the idea and minds behind it. But the races are just so… bland. Concord troops look alright but thats about it for me.
This does look fairly promising. Saw the kickstarter, but some artwork was too big a leap of faith/fate? Anyhow, love the look of these models and the Mass Effect modern sci-fi look to it all! I’m taking this over Age of Sigmar!
The rules from the beta played well, and it really isa good game a more grown up 40k. Looking forward to the plastics release as able to run games at games club.
So many new games so little cash flow, but this one gets the attention.
I am really looking forward to this. Having played the Beta, I feel that it is a great set of rules. The only thing missing was plastic minis and here they are 🙂
