The Chaos Warriors Get Painted Up For War By Momminiatures

Momminiatures have shown off some more of their Fantasy range this week with painted models for the Chaos Warriors. These should then be making their way onto the webstore soon for you to pick up...
The models have got a very strange look to them I think you'll agree. The odd thing about them is the way that bone is growing all over their corrupted and scarred forms. It almost has a little bit of a Dark Souls feel, as if they're getting encased within this gnarled shell.
I'm not completely won over by the bone design however and I think, from my perspective anyway, it takes away from the models compared to the rest. I like the armour plating, the big furry cloaks (always needed with Chaos Warriors) and the beaten weapons.
I also like that they've gone beyond human in most cases with claws and such instead of hands for models like the Champion.
Would you use them in your Chaos army?

Good spot, @Brennon 🙂 . Got to these before I did! Not sure how I feel about this bunch. They are certainly unique, and maybe with a different paint sceme they might appeal to me more. Can’t say I ever got a bad mini from this company.
Im looking at their webstore and its a mixed bag .. it could be just the paintjobs but some minis seem to have very “rough” details, and some seems to have too little definition instead. How well would you say the pics do the physical models justice? The mounted chaos lord caught my attention especially @ only 20 euros
You’re right @hatamoto. Some are a bit rough, but I can forgive that for the price, given that they’re resin. I bought two boxes of the dwarfs, and am quite happy with them, and I bought seven of the mounted Chaos lord. It’s resin, (except for the spiky collar, which is plastic), has tons of detail, and almost no flash. I bought seven of them so far, to use as a heavy cavalry command group. If they are as good as barbarians I want them for my army. Their barbs are great for any chaos-themed army and not so different from GW new chaos units.
But they will be way cheaper… I don’t think the timing of this release was serendipity either.
I quite like these. They’ve got a kind of 13th Warrior/Fantasy Dark Age vibe going on with them. I can certainly see the Dark Souls meets GW Chaos fusion going on, but with a dash of Lord of the Rings movie trilogy orcs thrown in for good measure – especially in that first individual figure with the exposed face.
Those look really good.
