Kingdom Death Hold Back Plastic Release Till 2014

Kingdom Death have recently posted an update on their Kickstarter page saying that they are holding back the release of the plastic kits until the beginning of 2014 to improve on the quality and sure backers get the best.
Above you can see one of the sprues, not a finalised piece of course, but something to show off what you could be getting towards the release. It all looks nicely detailed and I like that it allows you to put these together with minimal fuss, I do like pegs!
As well as the sprues they have also put together a selection of the plastic kits to show you how they will look compared to the resin we've seen before. These guys have been pushing quality to the edge with these pieces and it's amazing what you can do with plastic nowadays.
I would imagine that while people are upset about the delay the improvement in quality across the board has got to be a good thing.

Soooo, another Kickstarter gets delayed, and perhaps even alot.
Shocker.
The plastic looks well engineered. Still not a fan of the look, not even by a long shot,
If you look at the numbers only 40% of kickstarters make their pledge delivery on time. A lot of time that has to due with more attention to the project blowing the original production estimates out of the water.
People need to understand what they are getting into before making a pledge. Kickstarter is not a shopping mall.
Where as I am disappointed by the delay I can understand why Adam has done it.
Kingdom death produce probably the best mini’s out there and a drop in their standards could possibly harm that reputation.
A couple of months delay is nothing new for a KS, it’s just a shame that I will be getting my Christmas present closer to my birthday.

To be fair, with the success they had on Kickstarter, I’m not surprised there are delays. I backed out of this due to the shipping expense and was hoping to pick it up on release so for me it’s better if it gets delayed as it gives me more time to finish everything else off (and try to become a much better painter to be worthy of painting such wonderful models!).
There is also a note on the update that due to the amount of extras that are now in the main box, the retail cost is now being pushed up to around $150 – $200.
Although this hits people in the pocket who are buying Monster after its release, Adam has stated that those people who are backers will not be charged extra.
