In just a few weeks, we will see the second set of the Shadows Over Innistrad, Eldritch Moon, for Magic the Gathering - and I am excited!

The art on these cards looks absolutely awesome. I have to confess that I have not necessarily been the biggest fan of the Eldrazi in previous sets, purely based on looks alone, but these have my full attention.

I love that they look more organic and perhaps less alien. Of course they bring with them the brutally high stats, at equally high casting costs, but it may just be worth it.

But then again there are still angels- oh how I love angels (it's the wings). The art on these is brilliant, offering a bit more of the "good" side than in the first set. Did I mention there's an Eldrazi angel? (mind blown!)

And then there's planeswalkers. Liliana is making an appearance again, bringing with her the handy summoning power of zombies. If it's numbers you aim to bring onto the field, she'll be a tough one to deal with.

There's also Tamiyo, Field Researcher, who offers an extremely useful card draw ability along with an equally handy and likely very annoying, tap ability.

Lastly, the werewolves continue to run through this set, which will offer some really interesting dynamics on the tables - not to mention that the dual sided cards just look cool.

Eldritch Moon drops on July 22nd, and I have to confess, I'm counting the days.

What do you think of the prospect of Eldritch Moon?
