Empress Miniatures have now launched their Arnhem Heroes Kickstarter. This is a new selection of 28mm miniatures sculpted by Paul Hicks that represent the different Allied heroes that fought in Arnhem during World War II.

The focus of the campaign has been on presenting collectors, painters and wargamers with a range of unique sculpts that could be used to represent the different Allied troops fighting in Arnhem. These should work nicely as additions to other plastic kits out there from the likes of Warlord Games and of course Empress' own metal range.

There are three different sets for you to have a look at from Empress. The first concerns the core troops that would have been seen running through the streets of Arnhem with weapons at the ready. You get some very dynamic sculpts for your skirmishing forces alongside named characters like Captain James G. Ogilvie.

The second two sets then contain the Stretch Goal material that has been unlocked throughout the process of the campaign.

This introduces a lot more of the specialist weapons and teams that would have been fighting during the period. You've got mortars, machine guns and sappers as well as a paratrooper who is making sure that their brew is good and ready.

There are also even bigger kits included with the third of the deal from Empress. This comes with heavy weapon teams and more that can be used alongside some of the bigger guns being used to stop the Axis advance.

You can also go "all-in" and get your hands on pretty much everything that we've seen here plus some special miniatures like Major Digby Tatham-Warter and Father Egan. You'll have seen them in the first image of this news story above.

The Kickstarter Page features lots more close-ups and such that you can delve into and see if these miniatures are going to be for you. It was also noted by Empress that if this campaign goes well, they will look at returning to Arnhem with German and Polish miniatures in the future!

Will you be having a look at the Arnhem Heroes Kickstarter?
