Paul Hicks is sculpting everything and anything at the moment it seems. Some recent teasers popped up from Antediluvian Miniatures which build on their 28mm Historical collection, perfect for some Medieval wargaming set in the highlands.

Islesmen With Great Axes // Antediluvian Miniatures

The first set is a new pack of Islesmen who are armed with Great Axes. This builds on their selection of current Islesmen that have previously been armed with a range of hand weapons like swords and axes alongside spears and shields. With these fellows, you've got some heavy hitters that could be used to represent elite units within your Medieval army. If you're unaware of the Islesmen, these would have been warriors fighting in the Hebrides, the Orkneys, or Shetland.

If you're looking for more warriors from the Early Highlands, we have some more Highland Bowmen getting their bows ready and raining down arrows on their foes. There is a wonderful mix of facial hair on display here that would be great to paint up! They say it's about faces and bases but I reckon it's about beards and bases.

The last set of miniatures from Antediluvian Miniatures and Paul Hicks are the Highland Caterans which were lower-class raiders that would have found themselves part of different armies during the period, seeking glory and riches when battling different clans.

Clad in a mix of light armour and using weapons that they might have snaffled up from past raids, these warriors look like they're desperate for a fight. As is always the case, there is also a "Gerry" in the mix (middle right) which you most definitely need to paint up to match.

These miniatures are heading off to be crafted soon and it shouldn't be long before you're able to dive in and build up your Medieval Scottish army.
