Steamforged Tease Sea Of Thieves Game On The Horizon

Steamforged Games has dropped an interesting teaser of what they have got coming up later this year. They are going to be setting sail with Sea Of Thieves it appears if this teaser is anything to go by!

There are no real nuggets of information beyond what we've seen here but the map in the background is most certainly from Sea Of Thieves. I would imagine that we're going to be seeing Steamforged dive into a board game based on the hit pirate video game that is available on PC and Xbox.
If you've never heard of Sea Of Thieves, the game is a one of pirate adventure where you assemble a crew and explore a Fantasy Pirate world, looking for loot and seeking to uncover secrets and more.

I would guess that any board game based around Sea Of Thieves is going to be one of modular adventures where you go from tile to tile, seeing what exists past the horizon. It will be neat to see how they get the crew-based element of Sea Of Thieves into the mix and the naval clashes that happen between individuals.

Merchants & Marauders exists out there in the board game space but the game is pretty ancient at this point. Maybe this could end up being a fun new option for people to engage with at the tabletop.
