Tank Duel on the Damascus Road: “The Arab-Israeli Wars” Battle Game (Part 2)
@Oriskany and @Elessar2590 (Another Historian Wargamer) finish up their game of Avalon Hill’s classic “The Arab-Israeli Wars” – set on the Golan Heights during the Yom Kippur War of 1973.
This war started with Israeli forces absorbing Syria’s gigantic initial onslaught through several days of some of the most intense tank combat since World War II, after which the Israelis went over to the offensive.
Pushing beyond the Syrian side of the Golan, Israeli armor and mechanized infantry were soon driving up the Damascus Highway at places like Hadr and Mazra’at Beit Jinn, which is where this scenario takes place.
