About the Project

This is a project I have been working on for Pandyman Entertainment's game Trench Offensive. I have built the terrain from scratch, using foam, coffee stirrers and cardboards. I have built trenches before and this will add to my collection as well as travel around the UK with Pandyman Entertainment.

I started the project with Paul from Pandyman Entertainment. We discussed what we wanted from the board. He is paying for the board, and it will be travelling around the UK. We wanted to do it for this as well. So I drew some ideas down. We bought a plane to top the board and add some flavour. We also plotted some of the routes down against the original board.

We wanted to add some toilets into the board for realism.

Building the trenches would be easiest with the foam. I have large chunks of it around my house, and I don’t think the wife will miss some from the attic. Who needs to keep warm.

While I tried to get the foam out of the loft, I bought a plane for the board. I soon painted it and got it ready for the board first.

I have made some progress with the trenches. I added the mud, I use brown paint, coco fibre and Wall filler, mixed together. Then, I used water down PVA glue to seal the mud in place. I also had put the plane in place. I also painted and glue the gun in place.

Well this project is done. I have added and painted sandbags with DAS air drying clay and painted it with some light earthy colours. I added some barbed wire, to this board to add to the realism. Also added patches of static grass, fresh looking, it adds a little bit of colour to the board and makes it slightly more realistic.

I learnt a lot by doing this one and the original board and can’t wait to get stuck into the next board.
