Voodooworx Work On Humans From The Kingdom Of Ariad

The artwork below by Wayne England is the first step towards us seeing a nice range of Human miniatures from Voodooworx. The Swordsmen below are varying concepts based on the Kingdom of Ariad. If you like your Conan these certainly have the feel of that world...
Basically the miniatures grow in their complexity as you look at them from top to bottom. While I like the more over the top look of the third model I think my favourite is probably the second image. I love that they have a barbarian look with the wild tangled beards but also the armour is very high quality and well crafted.
As an additional piece of concept art they also showed off the shield featuring three dragons on it. I think that is the icon they need to go for. I can imagine these warriors living up in the mountains and keeping a watchful eye over a pass or something. Noble warriors with a barbarian history.

I’m normally not into sketches, but they do offer an opportunity to tell the artist/sculptor that their model’s pose is too static.
the shield’s look good.
These make me think of Celtos for some reason. OTT for my tastes.
