Cthulhu Wars Onslaught Three, an expansion to the original game, is closing in on its finals days on Kickstarter. Sandy Petersen has put together a premier strategy game themed after the Gods and strange goings on from the world of Cthulhu.

Cthulhu Wars Onslaught 3 Set

The game plays with between two and eight players looking to recruit cultists, summon monsters and cast spells. All of this is in an effort to open inter-dimensional gates and wake up your Great Old One.

By using your ever fluxuating and changing Spellbook you'll be able to change how your factions play and open up interesting tactical options as your force grows.

This adds to the replay factor in the game as you go through the various schemes you have in mind to conquer regions, stake your claim and maybe even make a few alliances along the way.

New Factions & Models

One of the key elements of the game that makes it worth looking into is the asymmetrical nature of the different Old Ones who offer up very different strategies. You can see this coming into play with one of the new factions, The Ancients.

Despite the array of different options open to you the game has been playtested extensively for a while now.

As well as that you have the additional new Neutral Models for the game which add some creepy alien-like creatures into the mix which may be controlled by different opponents, turning them to your whim.

The miniatures for the game are all sitting around 28mm scale so they could even be used elsewhere in other wargames and skirmish games. It's quite fascinating to see them working on a game with such HUGE models thrown into the mix.

Cthulhu Wars Acolytes

The folks behind the game are currently smashing through stretch goals and there is still time for you to get involved and get stuck into this ever expanding game.

Have you dived into Cthulhu Wars yet?
