If you've recently picked up some MDF train sets from the likes of Sarissa Precision then perhaps this new(ish) release from 1st Corps might be handy! They have produced a Steam Engine Crew that you can use to enhance your terrain and make it feel a bit more engaging on the tabletop.

Steam Engine Crew - 1st Corps

The set comes with a resin Engine Plate as well as all of the train crew that you see here. The five figures would be great for sticking into the back of your engine as they shovel coal and get those wheels turning! The variety of poses give you folks driving, sounding the whistle and others just waiting about.

I think this is a fun little set that is a bit different from what you might expect. You've got lots of fun characters here that would be great for diorama building as well as using as part of your wargaming terrain. It was also pointed out that these fellows might not look out of place just doing some general labouring Maybe they could be digging the rubble out of a bombed-out house?

I'm sure there are folks out there that have been asking for something like this and hopefully, this ends up making your trains look that little bit slicker. Mark Fuller has done a grand job on these and I am eager to see which 20th Century gaming tables they arrive on in the future.

Will you be riding with this new 1st Corps train crew?
