All the models were then attached to bottle tops using blue tack to enable manipulation without touching the paint.  Everything got 3ish coats of Vallejo black primer, with plenty of time to dry between coats.  Then there were 3ish zenithal coats of Vallejo Grey primer, focusing progressively higher so as to leave very little black visible and only on the deepest areas and to only have the brightest colours where I wanted the light to appear to be catching.

I left those traps black as they are to be painted completely with Iron, and black is the best undercoat colour for Iron.

Primer works its best if given time to dry thoroughly before painting over it.  I have it in my head that it should be left for 24 hours but I have no idea where I got that number from so it may well be overkill.  As such, I had this lot primed and sat on a shelf before finishing off my previous project.  I also primed any bases not shown.  They will be taking paint later, after all.  They already have holes drilled in them to line up with the pins in the feet of their related models.
